For anyone out there who isn’t quite sure, strobing is a trending term in the makeup world – and essentially means highlighting – to give you that glow-y and dewy look we all love. If you’re after that perfect shimmer and you’ve tried to master contouring (a tough challenge, I know!), strobing is simple, quick and will give you that exact youthful glow you’re looking for. - Always start by moisturizing. Sounds pretty simple, right? Believe it or not, this is an easy step to forget, but very important considering our goal here is dewy and glow-y. Prepping the skin is essential. Use a great moisturizer to get started so that your skin is smooth and soft.

- Choose a highlighter that complements your skin tone. If you have fair skin, select something lighter, perhaps in the champagne family. If you’re more olive or darker-toned go for something in the gold family.

Think about enhancing your natural (and best features) when you’re highlighting – remember that highlighter can make certain areas of the face look bigger – so if that’s not what you’re going for, than avoid those areas.

- Add highlighter to all of the areas you’d like the light to bounce off of just a bit more. Cheekbones, the bridge of your nose, corners of your eyes and on the brow bone are great places to start. After you have applied the highlighter to those specific areas, use a brush or makeup sponge to blend so that there are no harsh lines, just a soft glow-y look.
