Paris Couture is in full swing. You know what that means: industry members, fashion lovers, actors and celebrities alike are all making their way to the Paris runways, hoping to catch a glimpse at some haute couture. Chanel’s runway was no exception. Held at the Grand Palais, Karl Lagerfeld turned it into a couture atelier, complete with forms and fabrics. Check out it out below
It seems as though Willow Smith brought her father, Will as her date for the evening. Below, he’s seen posing beside Jessica Chasten. They seem like a fun, fashionable group.
Jessica Chastain wore a sleek black leather pencil skirt with a white button down and a signature Chanel tweed jacket draped over her shoulders.
According to Vogue, the collection was all about ‘creating a canvas’ for Lagerfel’s creations.
The collection spanned suiting, cocktail frocks, and fantastical evening wear, but nearly every single look was completed with black arm gauntlets and high black boots with a kitten heel, acting like a black suede canvas for Lagerfeld’s creations. –via
The model’s donned high curly updos with a beauty look that gave each model an identical doll-like appearance: thick black under eye eyeliner and thick full fake lashes.
Lastly, Lagerfeld ended the show by walking out with his seamstresses, some with sewing kits still around their necks.
In past shows, Lagerfeld’s gone for splashier collection debuts, featuring his muses of the moment and ending his shows with brand ambassadors. This time around, he gave his models a uniform appearance and chose to end the show with less notable faces. Could this be a permanent change? Only time will tell!
