Get the Look: Bridal Week Beauty From An Expert

Did you see my post on New York Bridal Week’s gorgeous beauty looks. I loved each and every fresh face and dazzling hairstyle that walked the runway. To catch up on my post, click here.

Today, I’ve enlisted Miami’s go-to bridal beauty stylist, Niurka Mendoza  to help you achieve one of those bridal hairstyles at home! According to Mendoza “wedding season in Miami is a big deal,” so you know she’s an expert. The look below is one that you can rock this wedding season or for a special occasion you’ve got coming up. Check out her tips below and be sure to let me know if you try this look out at home in the comments section.

The tousled look below is all about first day hair and great products. Mendoza tells brides to start off with clean, blow dried hair. According to her, “It gives the hair more texture.” She then suggests using a hair primer to keep your hair sleek and managable before using hot tools or a teasing comb. Next, you need to focus on technique. Mendoza uses a 1 1/2 inch curling wand on her brides. She starts from the bottom strands and works her way up.  She suggests that you form those curls away from your face. After each strand, she uses a Moroccan oil spray for a natural hold. Lastly, you’ve gotta shake out those curls out. Mendoza says that doing this “opens the curls making them wider and more tousled.” Viola, you’ve got a bridal-perfect wedding day look straight from the New York runways.
