To learn more about Shawna’s look, read on! She sent me her tips and tricks on how to recreate this minimal look. You can find these exact beauty products on SHOP.COM but I’ve also included some alternatives from Motives and Lumiere de Vie (you know those are number one for me!).
Prep:
I started off with a freshly cleaned and moisturized face (you can start with Lumiere de Vie Illuminating Fading Fluid). I prepped my skin with Mac Fix+ spray and primed with the Nivea Men’s Aftershave Balm. It leaves my skin plump and subtle for a glowy look without looking too oily.
Face:
The foundation I used was the Marc Jacobs Re(marc)able foundation and used the tiniest amount. Just one dot was able to give me a full but natural coverage for my entire face. I used a flat top brush to buff that all in, then blended the foundation in with a damp Beauty Blender.
For concealer, I used the Motives Cosmetic Colour Correction Quad for my underlies to brighten everything up and lightly baked my under with the Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder (Motives® Translucent Loose Powder has a similar effect).
For my contour I used the Rodial Cosmetics Instaglam Contour Powder (yep the one Kim K uses!) for chisel out my cheeks, contour my nose and also put some on my forehead near my hairline to not only give a slimmer illusion for the face but also to give my skin that sun kissed colour.
I then used Mac’s Blush in Gingerly. It is such a subtle and natural toned blush it give my face that natural warmth.
As for highlight (which is the star of the show here) I went in with Becca’s Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid Highlight on my cheek bones, bridge of my nose, cupids bow, inner corners of my eyes and brow bone and blended that in with a beauty blender. And to set the liquid highlighter and more of a glow, I used the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter on top. Both highlighters were in the shade “Opal”. (Also check out Motives® Shimmer Powder in Starshine).
Eyes:
I used the Anastasia Dip Brow Pomade for my brows
The eyes were super simple, just applied some of the same bronzer all over my lid with a fluffy brush and applied a light layer of mascara. (Motives® Lustrafy Mascara in Blackout will do!)
Lips:
I used Mac’s lipstick in the shade Honey Love which is a beautiful nude and on top of that I used the Nars Lipgloss in Turkish Delight.
