Giving Back

I truly believe that we receive whatever we put out there.
It’s about giving a little and receiving a little.Which is why I find it so important to occasionally offer
our time or talents at no charge to people or organizations that can benefit
from them.

When choosing an organization to get involved with try to
find something that is along the lines of your passion. Pick a cause that is
close to your heart. Let’s say your aunt passed away from Breast Cancer.
Perhaps look into the Susan G. Komen foundation. It’s important to pick
something your passionate about, because you’ll be much more convincing when
you’re trying to raise funds for a new project or trying to recruit to
volunteers. Some the organizations I’ve associated myself with are Rally for
Kids with Cancer, American Heart Association, Make-a-Wish, the Jennifer Lopez
Foundation, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and the Rush Philanthropic Arts
Foundation.

And not only is volunteering good karma, but it’s good
business practice. If a customer sees that your company is associated with
various organizations they will most likely appreciate your efforts and return the
favor by being loyal to you. Aligning yourself with organizations that share
your business initiatives is a great way to continue to develop your brand.

But most importantly, it’s about the difference you’re
making in this world. It may seem very small at first, but your efforts have
more impact than you know. And what better reward than knowing you’re leaving
this world a little bit better than when you arrived?

xoxo,

Loren
