We’re reaching late October, which means are wallets are about to get thin and our bellies wide. The good news is: we can absolutely lessen the chances. Starting with creating holiday dishes that are a little more health conscious than the usual homemade recipes (pumpkin cheesecake, anyone?).
Here’s a recipe for a Parisian-style vegetable crumble courtesy of one of my favorite food blogs, MattBites.com. The best part of this recipe is you’ll probably have most of the ingredients at home. Plus it’s a nice side dish for any holiday meal.
Since we all know what I sucker I am for women entrepreneurs, it comes to no surprise that I’m a fan of KathEats.com. The 27-year-old registered dietician makes her own recipes, takes photos, and shares it with the world. I love her recipes for oatmeal (seen here and here). You can set up a little oatmeal bar for your out-of-town guests with different flavors and toppings. It’s easy, fun, and good for you.
Lastly, there’s this recipe from Delish.com for a sweet potato and apple soup. Perfect to start Christmas dinner, don’t you think?
