Have you ever found yourself stuck in a rut with no
motivation to get out? When all you really want is to feel motivated again?
It’s the worst feeling. I recently had a friend come to me with this same
problem. After a 30-minute conversation we designed a plan to help him get that
inspired feeling back—the fire that buns inside us.
It’s not always easy to see the light at the end of the
tunnel when you’re feeling down, but the most important thing to remember is
you must be proactive. Inspiration is
not going to knock you on the head when you’re laying in bed feeling bad for
yourself. Inspiration comes when you’re experiencing something you’ve never
experienced before; having a conversation with a new friend; or simply
meditating in your favorite spot.
A lot of the times we feel stuck because we’re bored, and we
no longer have passion for the things we used to have passion for. That feeling
is completely normal. As we evolve, the things we used to find important can
change as well. What to do when you feel bored? Try some new. Make a list of the things you’ve always wanted to
try, but for some reason never got around to doing so. It could be something
like kayaking, painting, or learning to play an instrument. Once you have your
list, get moving! If you seek you shall find. So start looking for ways to
cross things off your list.
Lastly, enjoy the ride. Do not over think your journey to inspiration. All you really have to
worry about is whether or not you’re making an effort to experience new things.
Once you’re making the effort, sit back and take in every moment. And remember
to be open to these new experiences and people. If you’re going to be closed
off to the experience there’s no worth in even trying.
Most importantly, remember to believe.
