Back in October the members-only club Soho Beach House
opened in Miami with a 100-foot-long pool, a screening snug, a modern-day
Italian resto dubbed Cecconi’s, and the luxurious spa Cowshed. Although the
private society has tons of fun offerings, the UK-based spa is definitely a
standout.
In its second North American outpost, Cowshed Miami Beach is
two floors and has that Anthropologie feel that has become so popular in the
design world lately. Think distress wood, potted plants, English tea, and
natural stone. It’s definitely a departure from all the swanky spas on Miami
Beach. Instead, you fee like you’re on the English countryside.
Spread between two floors there are mani/pedi chairs with an
ocean view, a blowdry bar (much needed with Miami’s humidty) and a locker room
complete with the works (Cowshed products, robes, sandals, and blowdryers).
Speaking of products, they are all natural and therapeutic plant-based. They
did a great job with branding by giving the items fun names like Lazy Cow,
Grumpy Cow, and bullocks.
The common spaces are large, comfortable, and ideal for a
spa day. But of course, the treatments are the reason you come. The menu
consists of everything from back massages and salt scrubs to hot stone massages
and facials. If you’re looking to get a few treatments in, you may want to try
the Cowgroom packages like Maintenance (speedy facial, eyebrow tidy, and a
speedy mani/pedi).
I’ve saved the best for last. Originally, the spa was only
open to members and their guests, but now they’re allowing anyone come in (if
you can get a reservation!). So if you’re in town, pamper yourself here.
xoxo,
Loren
