I always get a lot of people around me calling themselves an entrepreneur. They talk about, pitch ideas but when it comes down to the execution part they disappear! It’s the same as someone saying they are athletic or a dancer, but are they really? Can the walk the walk? Can you prove it to me?
When The Idea is Born
Entrepreneurs have a million ideas, I once knew a friend of mine who wanted me to work with her on a clothing line. She spoke about it all day, told me how much money we were going to make and how this idea was so great! Few months that ideas was still just an “idea” there was no strategy, no motivation or execution. Once I asked my friend about the clothing line “idea” she said oh, I was waiting on you to help me. Never depend on someone else to execute your ideas, if you don’t motivate yourself how will you influence others? Before approaching others make sure you are able to commit to the project, go out and make your idea happen!
Be Ready To Present
Always be ready to present to your investors or future business partners. There’s never a right time, you could be at a social gathering and someone happens to mention your idea, entrepreneurs don’t have time to waste so make sure you are ready when they. I once knew a friend who pitched her idea to a potential business partner outside the bathroom. I know the idea of presenting your idea outside the bathroom is awkward but she was there at the right time and the person was ready to listen to her. If you have an idea, make sure you are ready to present, keep notes with you at all times, know your facts and be ready to perform
Your Pitch
Imagine you are in a room full of entrepreneurs. You have a pending meeting with one of them to discuss your idea and you know your idea is not is not until the following day. But, what happens when he wants you to pitch right there and then? What do you do? Do you cancel or do you pitch? This is your only chance don’t loose the opportunity. Always have different pitch scenarios and be prepared for any circumstance. Don’t be afraid, go for it you can do it!
