For me, work is a dream come true. I never forget how blessed I am to feel so passionate about the work I do and you, too, can become passionate about your work. As you make your way from your first entry-level job to the position that defines your career, you will probably face some challenging times. You might have to take jobs that you just aren’t that excited about, and you may be wondering how to be passionate about work when it isn’t exactly what you had in mind.
Your work can be the place where you really come into your own and are able to show the world exactly what you can do. It really doesn’t matter what your job is, from making lattes at your college coffee shop to being the CEO of a Fortune 500 company, you can figure out how to be passionate at work. Think of it this way: at any job there is an opportunity to show your stuff, you just have to find the part you really enjoy and you decide it’s time to give it your all.
Remember that every position is a stepping stone, an opportunity. Here are my tips on how to be passionate about work:
- Decide to go for it. Just do it. Find the part of your job that you enjoy and make it your passion.
- Show off your ability to lead. Take initiative. Show your team that you can be creative and contribute ideas.
- Look toward your future. Imagine yourself where you want to be in ten years and set your sights on that goal. You’ll get there, I promise!
