Flu 2013: Stay Healthy During the Sick Season

  • Get vaccinated! “We strongly encourage people to get vaccinated, and we’d like them to do that as soon as possible. The current batch of flu vaccines appear to be a good match for this year’s flu.” Dr. Michael Jhung, a CDC flu expert told Reuters.
  • Wash your hands.
  • Skip the alcohol and sugary, fatty food.
  • Up your water intake.
  • Stock up on vitamins like zinc and vitamin C, plus lots of garlic.
  • Disinfect all surfaces (home, car, desk) on a regular basis.
  • Sleep and make sure to get even more extra rest if you feel any of those telltale aches and pains.
