When you think about it, most successful companies have one thing in common: pretty amazing brand recognition. Think about some biggest brands out there right now like McDonalds, Progressive, Starbucks or even Disney – do you ever get confused by them? Probably not. Successful brands do an incredible job of building association with their product. You recognize logo, slogans, colors etc. and you never think twice about what they offer. As a consumer, you just know!
Branding can be broken down into many things but at the core it really means recognition of value; a promise of a quality product. So what do you need to remember when building your brand? What are you offering and where you stack up against the others?

5 Things to Remember When Building Your Brand
- Track your accomplishments and strive for more. Just like one of the popular brands above, when building your personal brand show off the ways you stack up against the competition.
- Always jump at the chance for additional education. Although you can build a very successful career from experience alone, when you have the chance to gain additional education – go for it!
- Be your own promoter. If you have something to show, why not strut your stuff? Show the world what you can do.
- Become known as an expert. Choose something you love and learn everything about it. Get great at it and be confident in your expert status.
- Network! Possibly the most important piece of the puzzle. Get out there. Meet others in your field and community. Think about it: the best brands deliver their message by word of mouth.
