My Thoughts and Prayers Are with The People of Japan

The LA Times reports hundreds are dead after the worst earthquake in generations struck off the northeast coast of Japan on Friday, setting of a devastating tsunami that swallowed swaths of coastal territory and fanned out across the Pacific Ocean, threatening everything in its path.

The 8.9 -magnitude earthquake — the world’s fifth-largest since 1900 and the biggest in Japan in 140 years — struck at 2:46 pm. local time, shaking building violently in Tokyo for several minutes and sending millions fleeing for higher ground.

Nearby islands are bracing for the tsunami and warnings have been issued for 53 countries including ones as far as Colombia and Peru.

Entrepreneurs, entertainers and people throughout the social networks have been reacting and sending their prayers for all those affected by earthquake. From celebrities to Kim Kardashian to CNN’s Anderson Cooper are all reacting and sending their support for those in need.

Social Media site Mashable.com has reported that Google has reacted to the devastating 8.9 magnitude earthquake that hit Japan on Friday with a tool that helps you find a person or provide information on missing persons. The site also aggregates important resources, maps and other related information. While Fema has offered help those in the Pacific Coast.

This is a very sad day for all of us, the earthquake has not only impacted the people in Japan but our entire global community. My prayers and thoughts are with you.
