I have always been an interesting sleeper. I sometimes laugh in my sleep, cry in my sleep, converse mumbo jumbo in my sleep. Doc says it is nothing to be concerned about, that I simply have an overactive imagination. “Don’t worry, Joan” Doc said confidently. “As you get older, you’ll learn how to put a lid on it.”
Once when I was down, a dear friend told me that the majority of people are afraid to feel real. That was the difference between us and everybody else, we knew how to really feel. ” Don’t worry, Joan” She said confidently. ” You just get yourself to a place where you are so happy it hurts, do NOT afraid of that.”
Put a lid on what exactly, Doc? My Mind? My Dream? An overactive imagination seemed like something only I could catch. Not to mention, I am already struggling with a severe case of megalomania. You get so happy it hurts? Truthfully, they all read to me like euphemisms for insanity.
As entrepreneurs, we get to experience the gift of true invigoration. We really feel. We let passion be our guide. We know the meaning of life. We take eternal pride in our initiatives. It’s those moments, in between the really dreamy ones, that leave us feeling more ordinary then we would prefer to tolerate. I have yet to find that lid bit what I did discover is hats. Hats appropriate for every tale my overactive imagination perused. What goes up must certainly come down, I say let’s be sure to float in between.
Stress is a direct result of overwhelming mental activity. Often times, stress is associated with the word how. How am I going to get this done? How am I going to make this happen? Attempting to figure too many things out can leave us feeling like we know nothing. Turn that HOW into NOW while processing a fearless attitude for learning along the way.
How do I become fearless? There you go again. Well, whenever I’m afraid, I do what I did when I was little… run into another room. Your chosen mentors are the older siblings you wish you had. They instill the guidance and wisdom that will help you get through. As for the downtime in between you shining moments, remember this:
Nothing Happens, Nothing Happens. Then Everything Happens.
