With so many new beauty products hitting the market, it can be overwhelming! I’ve found that sometimes it’s better to stick with the basics: makeup sponges vs brushes is usually the way to go (I definitely don’t advocate using your fingers, as that can spread bacteria and cause breakouts). But even simplifying it down to foundation sponges vs brushes can still leave you stumped, and if you’re not sure which application technique to use, read my reviews below!
Foundation Sponges vs Brushes – Which Works for You?
- SPONGES: They use more product however the new foundation sponges allow you to apply in a way that is natural and sheer but still gives coverage. The Beauty Blender also has two different shapes, giving you an easier time covering all areas of the face.
- BRUSHES: You will need to use less product with a foundation brush but the application is heavier, perfect for when you need a more full-coverage look. Both a flat brush and stippling brush are classic tools I keep in my makeup kit; my favorite is the Motives Foundation Brush because it gives me a flawless finish and minimizes product waste!
