- Use your elbows and knees on your attackers. Taking your thumbs to their eyes is also a good self-defense
- If you are abducted and placed in the trunk of a car, kick out the tail lights and stick your arm out to wave at the car
- If they are demanding your wallet, throw it far away and run in the opposite direction
- If someone pulls a gun on you, run in zig zags away from your attacker
- Always check the backseat when you get into your car, especially at night.
- Don’t stop for every stranger that needs your help. It’s hard to not be sympathetic, but in a vacant area or at night, it is better to be safe than sorry
- Don’t spend extra time in your car while in the parking lot on your cell phone, eating, etc. with the doors unlocked. That gives a predator time to get in the car after you
- Scope out the nearest elevators instead of taking the stairs
- If someone grabs you from behind, step on his foot with your heel and run
- If you hear something suspicious outside your home, call the police. Don’t investigate yourself!
