Rolling Stone Boston Bomber Cover – Why?

ROLLING-STONE-TSARNAEV

Rolling Stone is causing a massive controversy with its August 2013 issue in which Boston bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev appears on the cover. The outrage comes from the obvious glamorization of “The Bomber” who is currently pleading not guilty to 30 counts of federal indictment for April’s Boston Marathon bombing, shooting and manhunt that occurred thereafter.

In the article “Jahar’s World,” Rolling Stone features a look at the “popular, promising student was failed by his family, fell into radical Islam, and became a monster.”

The magazine hits newsstands this Friday. While the story may be well-written and informative, it’s the cover that has offended most.
