Nearly a dozen shots were fired near Capitol Hill this afternoon and while very few details are public knowledge at this point, here are a few things we do know.
What We Know About The US Capitol Hill Shooting
- A car chase ensued after a woman driving a black car tried to run into the White House gate
- The Secret Service pursued her until stopped at Capitol Hill, where gun shots were fired
- A small child was in the suspect’s car, unknown to police officers until after the fact
- One Capitol police officer was injured and airlifted to hospital, state of female driver is unknown
- Lockdown in Washington has been lifted
