Between the festive parties overflowing with delicious drinks, to cookies and candy circulating at the office – it’s easy to pack on the pounds during this time of year. With a little know-how and some good tips, you can keep the calories under control and still enjoy everything the season has to offer.

  • Stick to a 2 drink program. This will keep weight gain under control and you’ll wake up feeling great!
  • Eat a healthy, high protein snack before the party. Loading up on something nutritious will fill you up ahead of time, keeping you from overindulging on holiday goodies.
  • Save up your calories. If you know you won’t be able to resist a couple glasses of bubbly or your neighbor’s famous fruitcake – cut back throughout the day and leave room for those extra calories.
  • Skip trigger foods all together. You know that one particular cookie you can’t stop eating? Just ban it from your holiday treats entirely.
  • Have a little taste of everything. Just a bit goes a long way to making you feel like you were able to enjoy everything, but without packing on the pounds.
  • Go to that party looking great. A slim-fitting dress will make you feel good about yourself, but will also get tighter if you overindulge. Use the dress as incentive to hold back.
  • Buffet anyone? This is your best option for loading up on fruits and veggies, shrimp and other light proteins.
