It’s pretty wild how getting off track from our daily routines can throw everything out of whack. From what we do as soon as we roll out of bed to how we handle the first hours at work, a morning routine is essential to staying on track. Changing up your morning routine to include some time spent solely focused on you may be just the thing you need to find an inner calm that’s tough to achieve during a busy week. Check out my ideas for making your morning routine the best part of your day.
What’s Your Morning Routine?
- Focus on you. Rather than rolling over and picking up your phone to look at email, hold off. Go thirty minutes without even glancing at your smartphone.
- Put aside your worries about the day and take some time to get some exercise, do a few minutes of meditation or some yoga stretches.
- Make yourself a nutritious breakfast and enjoy a coffee or juice while you’re at it.
- If exercise isn’t your thing, spend ten minutes reading a book, the newspaper or even writing in your journal.
- Shower and dress before you even start thinking about everything you have to accomplish – give yourself this time to reset and relax.
Starting your day with a self-focused routine can be just the charge you need to get to work calm and ready to tackle the challenges that lay ahead. It’s worth waking up just a bit earlier to have a little time to you. What’s your morning routine?
