A Foolproof Guide to Nailing Your Goals in 2014

Now that we are 4 months in to 2014, what have you accomplished so far? Did you set out a few “New Year’s Resolutions” back in January? I hope that you have completed those goals or are at least on your way to completing them! If you haven’t, that’s ok! Sometimes we all need a little extra push! Whatever your goals may be, my tips below will help you guide and support your efforts!

A Foolproof Guide to Nailing Your Goals in 2014

 Get Motivated

Whether you are trying to lose weight this year, change up your lifestyle or learning a new skill; find what motivates you.  Don’t get stuck in a rut of doing the same thing over, expecting different results. Trying to lose weight? Keep your workouts fresh and new. Try exercising in new places like parks and trails! Figure out what time of day you like to work out at and go for that! Motivate yourself by purchasing some cute new work out clothing and making a few playlists of your favorite songs to help get you going!

Indulge smarter

Eating healthier will improve many aspects of your life. Make fresh and healthy decisions and learn to enjoy new types of food that is better for your body! Remember that you can eat anything you want – as long as it is in moderation! Be mindful of what you’re eating and drinking without obsessing over it. Try planning out at the beginning of the week what you will eat and prepare it ahead of time, that way once you’re hungry, you’ll know exactly what to reach for rather than panicking and grabbing the first brownie that you see! Pair up with a friend with the same health goals and motivate each other!

Believe that you’ll succeed

Did you promise yourself that you would master the guitar or learn how to sew? The first step to achieving is believing!  Prepare you mind for whatever it is that you are trying to accomplish and dive on in! Focus on the individual steps rather than mastering the task entirely. Even the smallest of steps forward are still steps in the right direction!

Reward yourself

Focus on the good things that you have accomplished rather than dwelling on what you haven’t achieved yet. Trying to learn how to be more fiscally responsible? Well make it worth your while and practice saving up for a vacation or a new pair of shoes! Something that you can look at and say, “Now that was worth it!” Stay upbeat and positive! Even if you miss one day of working out or over indulge in the ice cream in your freezer. Don’t let that get you down! Tomorrow is a new day and you get to start over!
