Can A Million Dollars Buy Happiness?

Rapper Biggie Smalls once said, “Mo Money, Mo Problems.” The idea of having a million dollars in the bank sounds nice, right? Many young entrepreneurs dream of becoming millionaires by the age of 30. This goal is possible, but it doesn’t necessarily mean it will bring you more happiness. In 2010 a study showed that 450,000 Americans determined that people’s positive perceptions of their lives increased with income, but that their everyday feelings did not improve above an income of $75,000 a year.

Money enables you to travel, live a better lifestyle, comforts your cravings and can buy you some conveniences in life. Sometimes, the more money you have the less time you have to enjoy it. Money is not a feeling, it’s a material we need in order to survive. It might buy you some time to create happiness, but it won’t fulfill you completely.

What’s the point of having all the money in the world if you can’t enjoy it? Can a million dollars buy you happiness? Send me a tweet @lorenridinger or drop me a comment below.
