Beyonce premiered her new music video “Run the World (girls)” on Wednesday night during American Idol. The video is an eye-popping, hip-displacing clip full of haute couture costuming, daring dance steps and even a little geocentric gender-politicking. MTV is reporting that many of Beyonce’s die hard fans are not responding well to the video or song calling it “safe and mystified.” Some fans don’t think the song or the video went far enough. Then there are the complaints about the video’s choreography calling it “not hard enough” and making comparisons to Lady Gaga saying, “they are wearing the same shoes.”
I think the video is great, but that’s my opinion. What do you think? Do you think Beyonce has officially lost her swagger?
