So the debate rages on, so much that it was a question for the contestants of the “Miss USA” pageant”. Campaigns in legalizing marijuana has gained steam in the past few years, with some states allowing the use of the drug for medicinal purposes. Over 40 percent of the US population now believe that legalizing marijuana is okay. You may ask what the big debate is? The debate is really over the moral issue of legalizing what is considered a street drug. The moral, if we legalize marijuana then what will come next. However, one can argue that marijuana is legal in other parts of the world. Take for instance, in the Netherlands, purchase and personal use of the drug is legal. The idea that in legalizing the drug will add to more crime has been debated as the Netherlands has a low crime rate.
