It was a pleasure speaking in front of the members of the NBA Wives Association at the Behind the Bench Annual Convention in New York City. It was also amazing to be honored with the “Build An Empire” Award. I wanted to share some great photos my team took of the event and share my pearls of wisdom from the speech that I gave. I hope these words will inspire you and help transform your own life, because they came not only from my personal life experience but from my heart.
“Being with the right partner is important. Someone who loves women and supports them and does’t get jealous. If you don’t have one you should reconsider your situation.”
“It’s okay for women to work for women, to make their own money, to be reliant on themselves. If I didn’t show my daughter how to do that, how would she know?”
“I’m a leader by example.”
“You want your children to say, ‘mom is not just a mom at home, mom is super woman.'”
“If you want a career and have a family, there no reason why you can’t have both.”
“Don’t lose touch of who you are. Always remember who you are. That is my message to women.”

“The foundation of our company is to empower people. To help other people’s dreams come true.”
“You don’t have to be the bread winner to gain respect. You must demand respect.”
“I have the ability to dictate what makes me happy. Don’t rely on anyone else to make you happy.”
“When you have momentum it’s really important to push harder. It’s much easier to be successful if you have some behind you.”
“Stop throwing rocks at people with glass houses because it’s not your job to judge.”
