Today is International Coffee Day, and if you’re as much of a coffee lover as I am, then I’m sure you are rejoicing and eager to celebrate! In honor of the brew’s special day, I have rounded up a few coffee-based cocktail recipes featuring Marley Coffee. These are easy, delicious concoctions you can keep around for your next party. And don’t forget to check out Cedella Marley’s amazing coconut rum balls to go with them. Yum!

International Coffee Day: Cocktail Recipes ft. Marley Coffee

1) Espresso Martini: Need a drink that will wake you up after a long day of work? This decadent cocktail is exactly what you need to get through happy hour.

Espresso Martini Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

1½ oz. Kahlúa
1 oz. Absolut Vodka
1 oz. Marley Coffee Espresso

 

DIRECTIONS: Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into a martini glass.

 

 

2) Improved Iced Coffee: When you need something cool and refreshing with an extra kick.

Iced Coffee Cocktail Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  • 6 ounces brewed Marley Coffee, cooled
  • 1 ounce Old Grandad Bonded Bourbon
  • 1/2 ounce Luxardo Maraschino
  • 1/2 ounce cream
  • 1/2 ounce demerara syrup
  • 3 dashes absinthe
  • 3 dashes orange bitters
  • Garnish: nutmeg (optional)

 

DIRECTIONS: Add coffee, bourbon, Maraschino, cream, demerara syrup, absinthe, and bitters to a cocktail shaker. Fill with ice and shake until cold, about 15 seconds. Strain into a goblet filled with crushed ice. Garnish with fresh nutmeg if desired.

 

3) Traditional Irish Coffee: Here’s a classic, delicious drink to keep you warm through those chilly fall and winter nights.

Irish Coffee Recipe

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup freshly brewed hot Marley Coffee
1 tablespoon brown sugar
3 tablespoons Irish whiskey
Heavy Cream, slightly whipped

 

DIRECTIONS: Fill footed mug or a mug with hot water to preheat it, then empty. Pour piping hot coffee into warmed glass until it is about 3/4 full. Add the brown sugar and stir until completely dissolved. Blend in Irish whiskey. Top with a collar of the whipped heavy cream by pouring gently over back of spoon. Serve hot.

 

4) Coconut Rum Balls by Cedella Marley: These delightful little treats make a great garnish for the coffee cocktails listed above. Here’s a delicious recipe to keep around for your next party.

Coconut Rum Balls by Cedella Marley ft. Marley Coffee | Loren's World

INGREDIENTS:

2/3+ cup dry coconut small flakes
2 Tablespoons oats
2/3 cup almonds
2 Tbs finely ground Marley Coffee
1/8 teaspoon fine sea salt
1 teaspoon warm Ziggy Marley Coco’mon Coconut Oil
3 Tablespoons raw sugar
1-2 Tablespoons Agave or maple syrup (or any thick sugar/sweet syrup)
3-4 Tablespoons Silver Root Rum
cocoa powder, coconut flakes or melted vegan chocolate for rolling

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Grind the almonds to a coarse powder (some of it will start sticking because of the released oil).
  2. Add oats, coffee and 1/4 cup coconut flakes and grind all together again.
  3. In a bowl, add this clumpy mixture, rum, oil, salt and agave and mix.
  4. Grind the raw sugar to a fine powder and add to the bowl.
  5. Mix and keep adding coconut flakes till you get a soft dough. Adjust sweetness by adding more powdered sugar or agave.
  6. Chill for half an hour.

Make balls and roll in coconut flakes, or cocoa powder or cover in melted chocolate!
