It’s pretty fun to load a photo up to Instagram, come up with a great one-liner and play around with the filters until it’s just right. But, the real fun begins when you get to see just how much your friends, family and followers like the image. Some photos garner so much attention (and often they’re the least expected) – you’d never guess and some are total duds. So what’s the secret? Want to get more likes on Instagram? Here’s a look at the best ways how.
Get outdoors! People love seeing photos of other people out there doing great things in the world – and besides, outdoor photos are loaded with colors and life. And, people respond really well to bright, happy and fun colors.
BE confident in the power of the selfie. Seriously, people love these things! When your face is the star of the show on Instagram, the likes will start rolling in.
Think about creating an account with a theme. You know the ones – they’re all about a hilarious and adorable puppy or all that’s posted is gorgeously delicious food shots. Theme-based accounts get loads of likes and it’s pretty fun to create something totally different.
Be careful about going overboard with the hashtags. A few hashtags is great for any photo (max out around 6 or 7), but if you get carried away – it will look like spam. Try using the hashtag #nofilter (and skip the filter!) – as this one always seems to garner a few more likes.
Try getting custom with your photos. You aren’t bound and limited to the filters and editing tools built into Instagram – so try a few other photo editing apps to give your images a more custom look. There are loads of great photo editing apps out there – find the one that works for you and get customizing!
Show some self restraint when it comes to how much you post. Reeling it in a little bit is OK – when you over post, you dilute your friends and followers with just too much. Think 1-2 times a day, max to keep those likes coming.
Be fun and funny. Instagram is a great place to show off your fun side – so why be boring? Let your creative side out and make your feed your own.
Go Blue. Turns out – images with cool hues (like blues) get more likes overall than images that are warm (with lots of red). Perfect excuse to spend some time by the ocean, right?
Have you tried any of these tricks? How’d it go?
