Keeping your budget in check can be difficult, but it doesn’t have to be. Sometimes, it just takes a couple of easy tips and tricks to save you money each month. Curious? Read on to find out how you can save some money every month.
Watch That Energy Bill- Listen, I get it. You want the climate of your apartment or bedroom just right. I love feeling that breeze of air conditioning cooling down the house, yet sometimes it’s just not worth it. Shut off your air conditioner and aim for a really good fan. If you need that extra air in the summer, then keep it a couple degrees warmer. So if you usually prefer your air at 72 degrees, put it up to 74. Remember that you can change your thermostat. It doesn’t always have to stay the same.
If You Don’t Need It, Don’t Plug It In- When you keep your phone charger plugged even after your phone is charged, you’re wasting valuable energy which means you’re also wasting something else that’s very important: money. Start being more conscious of what’s plugged in. Unplug lamps, fans, and other household items when they aren’t in use to save money.
Turn Off The Lights- This one is probably common knowledge. Our parents must have repeated this to us a hundred times. Did we ever listen? Nope, but now we all should. Turning off the lights when you leave a room is a great way to save money and energy. Try using a lamp while you’re watching TV or on your computer. It saves more money than overhead lighting.
Wash By Hand- If you usually use a dishwasher, it’s time to cut it out of your routine and start hand washing your dishes instead. Dishwashers use up a lot of water and if you wash by hand, you’ll be wasting a lot less water, which means more money in your wallet.
