How To Prevent A Hangover

So you drank just a little too much last night and now you’re waking up with one of those pounding headaches along with that instant feeling of regret. Yup, you’ve got a serious hangover. Instead of deciding that you’re never going to drink again, promise yourself that you’ll be a little more prepared next time. There are ways that you can prevent that hangover or at least lighten the load before you go out. Remember to always be careful when you drink, ladies!

Rest Up- Before you drink, rest up. Sleep won’t cure your hangover, but sleeping does improve your immune system, and keeps your body ready for a night of heavy drinking.

Load Up- Eat before you go out! It’s not some sort of myth. Grab all your favorite carbs and load up. When you drink on an empty stomach, it absorbs faster so it’s important that you eat up!

Light Drinks and Top Shelf Liquors- Congeners are what cause hangovers. They’re essentially what are produced during the fermentation process. To reduce your hangover, drink white wines and lighter drinks along with top shelf liquors. All of these contain less congeners.

Stay Away From The Bubbly- Stay away from bubbly drinks. Even drinks mixed with carbonated sodas absorb alcohol more quickly in your body. Absorbed alcohol = major headache, so try to stay away from bubbles.

Drink Water- While you drink and before you rest your head, drink some water, but not too much. Too much water can actually make your hangover worse when you wake up in the morning. Try to keep it to one glass before you fall asleep.
