Being happy is important to me. It should be a priority in everyone’s life. How do we make ourselves happy on a daily basis? What can we do to make our lives as happy as we want it to be? It shouldn’t be hard, which is why it’s important that you take up certain habits to make you a happier person. Below are some ways you can become happier. Shut it Off- Noise is everywhere; the sound of the television in the other room, your roommate’s cellphone buzzing or your coworker’s random chatter. It all adds up to your soundscape and makes you a little crazy. It’s important that we make time for silence and stillness. Try to find some peace and quiet and try taking a nap in the middle of the day. A moment of silence and stillness to give you some rest might be just what you need.
Turn Up Your Gratitude- Feeling more grateful makes for a happier life because you’re focused on what’s good in your life. Take your feelings of gratitude a step forward by sending a thank you note. Not only will it brighten up someone else’s life, but it will also be an act you can do to show the universe how grateful you are to have certain people and things in your life.
Turn Off The Electronics- When you’re around your friends, it’s best that you shut off your electronics. When hanging out, you want to be in the present moment. Enjoy the conversation and build a bond with the people around you. Your friends will notice when you’re not constantly multi-tasking.
Process- Growth requires adversity. Yet, it’s not just about accepting that adversity as is. It’s examining it and processing what’s going on in your life. It’s understanding what’s happening and moving on. Every month, we experience something different, so I suggest that you try to journal about your problems. Try to make it a narrative out of it and examine what’s really going on.
