Michele Bohbot Launches New Bisou Bisou Plus Size Collection

Plus size shopping has come a long way in the last few years. Long gone are the days when curvy women had to settle for whatever basic ensembles were available to them. Thanks to many designers and models like Denise Bidot, Ashley Graham, Tess Holliday, and Robyn Lawley, we are seeing a major shift in how the world sees plus size women today.

One of the aforementioned designers is Michele Bohbot, who launched her line Bisou Bisou in the late 80’s. Her dream was to bring Parisian street fashion with a modern style to American women. “She’s confident!” Michelle said about who the Bisou Bisou woman is. “She wants to look and feel great. She wears Bisou and wears it well. It’s a woman looking to add the right mix of trendy, yet feminine pieces to her closet at a reasonable price.”

Michele added a plus sized collection named, Bisou Bisou Woman for JCPenney in 2015 after realizing there was a gap in the market. “There is a need for plus-size contemporary designs that provide full-figured women with the same trend-driven fashions that you would find in missy sizing,” she explained. “With Bisou Bisou Woman, we are offering fashion that celebrates her curves and modern lifestyle.”

The multiple-award-winning designer uses lace, vibrant colors and patterns in a way that flatters curves. Women need not be afraid of adding these elements to their wardrobe any longer.

“When I use certain prints or fabrics, I do so with the intention of really accentuating a woman’s body. I use these elements to showcase the different body types in a flattering manner. I’m offering fashion that celebrates a woman’s curves and her modern lifestyle.”

One of the standout pieces from her collection is the palazzo pant. It’s a 90’s favorite that is making a strong comeback this fall. But how can full-figured babes wear this trend without overwhelming their frame?

“Palazzo pants are both comfortable and fashionable with the right shoes!,” Michele said. “Pair them with a nice wedge – it lengthens the body and accentuates the pants just right.”

Bisou Bisou Woman also includes jumpsuits and items with sheer paneling. Both of these looks could be a bit intimidating, but Michele suggests you just go for it! “I believe in taking fashion risks. If you like it, wear it. Life is too short to think, ‘I wonder how that would look?’ “If any particular item makes you feel happy and confident, then no one will be able to pull it off the way you can.”

This advice also applies for adding beautiful shades of bright colors to your mostly black, white and grey fall/winter attire. Michele suggests, “Wearing color in the fall will help you stand out! A pop of color is necessary when it’s dreary outside – you’ll look and feel great.”
