I will tell you, it’s not easy to get around Art Basel when you’re on a student budget. So I did what I do best: I used my talents and connections. As Art Basel came closer and certain events where finalized; I started getting emails and made sure I RSVP-ed. Getting myself some media passes was a must. I lined up the agenda with events around my school schedule and filming for a student project; as well as modeling in shows and blogging, so needless to say, I was busy. Yet, I was determined to get the best out of Art Basel and experience some of the amazing exhibits of art from around the world.
December 2 was the grand opening of Spectrum Miami, which was also part of the Red Dot Gallery. The galleries showed pieces from International artists around the world. I also attended the Art Loves Fashion hosted VIP fashion show that was produced by Erick Rosete. The fashion show was for a good cause (Glory House Charity in the fight against Human Trafficking). This show was eye catching and breathtaking; thank you Art Loves Fashion. The designers in the show included Lia Mira, Dian Putri, and Mister Triple X.
On Saturday, December 5th, F.A.M.E. Studio Wynwood hosted the ArtBasel Base Camp Alice in Wynwood. I was honored to work the fashion show and hit poses on the runway for Jose Alexzander designs . Life is grand and full of color. Being in this show reminded me to be bold, different and stand out. There was also an art exhibit and live music throughout the night.
Sunday, December 6, 2015, I was back in South Beach at the Albion Hotel for a photo shoot. There were vendors that had pop-up shops, DJ’s spinning music, and plenty of art galleries. It was an honor to be a part of this event and to meet so many creative individuals. Thank you, South Beach Bazaar.
I was captivated by the colors and displays of artwork that were shown at the galleries. I’m so happy that I could be in Miami and experience all the art from around the world. Thank you, Art Basel, for making this a reality.
