Overcoming Jealousy

The green eyed monster can get the best of anyone now and then, but if you find jealous feelings popping up more often than not, it’s time to have an honest talk with yourself.  There is a difference between recognizing your aspirations in another person and drowning in self pity because that person has something you don’t.  Overcome jealously by replacing thoughts of “I wish I had what X has,” with, “I am thankful for the Y and Z that I have.”  The grass is not always greener on the other side (cliche, but true) and we must always remind ourselves of the incredible blessings in life that are unique to each of us.  Harboring jealous thoughts is no way to live – by constantly thinking of things that other’s have, you are giving your own life permission to pass you by.  I read this amazing quote by Angelina Jolie, “The only way to have a life is to commit to it like crazy.”  Such true words!  Live YOUR life, not someone else’s.  Reach for YOUR success.  Tell YOUR story.
