Motives Dual Blending Sponge is one of my favorite products. When applying foundation, the Dual Blending Sponge is what I reach for. It gives me the most natural, dewy application of foundation, plus it’s great for packing on powder when I set my concealer. My only problem with this product is the dirt and makeup that gets stuck from overuse. I can see foundation from previous applications building up on the sponge. Cleaning your makeup applicators is important, ladies, which is why I like to clean mine just about every week. Every time I clean my sponge, it’s as good as new. Not an ounce of dirt or makeup can be seen. Find out some of my tips to cleaning my Motives Dual Blending Sponge below. How do you clean your sponge?
Bar Soap- When your in a pinch and need your sponge cleaned fast, aim for a bar of soap. First, wet your beauty blender under some warm water. Rub your bar soap over the affected area and watch the dirt lift away. Massage the soap into the sponge and make sure to rinse it out. Repeat this until your sponge is as good as new. Be sure to leave this product out to dry in the open. Putting it in a contained space could cause mold. Ick!

Makeup Brush Cleaner- When in doubt, go for your trusty makeup brush cleanser to clean your sponge. Wet your sponge before spraying it with your favorite makeup brush cleaner. Massage the cleanser and rinse until your sponge is squeaky clean.

Olive Oil and Detergent- I learned this trick from makeup guru, BreezynFAB. She mixes olive oil and dish-washing detergent to get all those spongy crevices nice and clean. Use this technique if you’re looking to deep clean your Dual Blending Sponge.
