I always suggest creating goals! Working towards a new goal or dream gives us something to live for! Now, making that goal or dream happen is another story. Wouldn’t it be great to work on those goals on a daily basis—to make them a part of our daily habits? Yup, today we’re discussing habits. When good habits stick, we feel great! Healthy eating, exercise, etc. But when those habits don’t stick, we wish they’d just work on autopilot instead. It’s time to get them to work on autopilot! Get to your goals faster by making a habit of working on them everyday. Read on to learn more!
All It Really Takes Is 30 Days- It’s been proven that doing a taks for 30 days, makes it a habit. So if your goal is to read everyday, try reading for 30 days. Once you’ve done that, it becomes second nature. Your habit becomes automatic so you train yourself to do it without even thinking about it!
Start Small- As I always say, don’t bite off more than you can chew. You don’t want to overwhelm yourself. If your goal is to take up yoga, start small. Watch a few YouTube videos and try starting a short at-home practice before you sign up for a class. Build to where you want to be!
Buddy System- Find a friend who will keep you motivated. You’ll have someone to remind you to stay focused! This way, you’ll be held accountable by someone you trust. They always say that two is better than one!
Visualize- This is the fun part! Visualize yourself performing that new habit in order to put aside the old, bad one. This will help to keep your new habit clear in your mind. In your visualization, imagine yourself in a high positive state. This way, you’ll associate your new habit with good positive feelings you’ll want to feel again and again!
