Do you ever find yourself slipping into that space in life where you’re just not happy for those around you? You’re not sure where it comes from – could be jealousy, unhappiness in your own life, a feeling of discontent – it’s not a good look. No matter what, being happy for others always displays you in the best light – showing your sense of selflessness and your own ability to be happy in your skin. Positivity is contagious, feels good and helps drive a sense of confidence – something people gravitate toward – while negativity quickly drives people away. No matter what is going on in your life, it’s crucial to keep a positive perspective – it will keep your relationships intact and your reputation solid. Not sure how? Why It’s Crucial to Keep a Positive Perspective
Take a negative and turn it around. There’s always a silver lining to be found – in every situation out there. Sometimes it’s not apparent right away and sometimes you have to dig pretty deep, but you can and you will. Once you find the positive piece embedded within the negative, things will quickly turn around – try it, you’ll see!
Create an environment that brings you feelings of contentment and positivity. If something negative is plaguing your environment and bringing you down, it’s time to set it free. If you’re in a bad relationship or your home needs a good cleaning and clearing of the clutter – get it done. Take some time off from your relationship if need be – walk away, take a deep breath and spend some time reflecting on what you need to feel happy. Remember – no one else can provide that but you. Surround yourself with positive vibes and you’ll emit them also.
Stop turning tiny issues into big deals. Sometimes you just have to let it go. And, nothing….NOTHING feels as good. You can only control yourself and your own actions – remember that and you’ll quickly stop worrying about what everyone around you is doing and you’ll stay focused on yourself. If you have teenagers and they’re not picking up after themselves….let it go for a few days. Stop getting so worked up and remember life is short. If your in-laws are staying with you for vacation and you feel like you need some breathing room – go for it! Head out on a walk, take some time for yourself and come back ready to spend some time together. Bottom line…..don’t sweat the small stuff.
Take care of your body, mind and soul. If you find yourself getting grumpy and on edge, take stock of what’s missing. Have you missed your daily workout a couple of days in a row? Are you eating the types of foods that fill you up and make you feel good or are you filling your body with junk? Have you neglected your spiritual self to make time for other things? Sometimes you simply have to walk away – say enough is enough – I need to get back on track for myself. And, you know what? That is OK. You’re friends and family will appreciate you for it – you’ll come back filled with good vibes and a positive attitude.
Have you noticed a difference in your life when you stay on track with the positive vibes versus settling into a negative or downer attitude? What do you do to get out of the funk?
