#1. Start a blog. A blog is one of the best ways to position yourself as a thought leader in your industry, giving you the opportunity to elaborate on subjects related to your business. By sharing your expertise and experience you have the chance to show a whole new community what your business is all about.
Let’s say you’re working in the beauty industry and you have twenty years of salon experience under your belt. If you recently branched out on your own, you have a lifetime of stories and experience to share on a blog and with potential readers. You can make product recommendations, share how-to blog posts – and even include some video. The opportunities are pretty endless.
#2. Join Instagram. Adding an Instagram account to your business’s marketing plan is a great way to provide visual direction to anyone who’s interested in checking out what you have to offer. You can share cool photos of your product, your product in use and even repost photos from customers who have used your product and yielded positive results.
The best way to gain more customers? The positive reviews from other customers and their positive word of mouth. Couple that with gorgeous photos and you have one great marketing plan. Did I mention this is all free?
#3. Take the plunge into Snapchat. If you’ve been hesitant so far, don’t be! Snapchat is growing in popularity at a rate that’s incredibly difficult to keep up with! The time is now to capitalize on another social media channel that’s catching on so quickly and with such fun and positive results.
If you haven’t used it before, Snapchat allows you to post quick videos for your followers – an incredible opportunity for some behind-the-scenes shots – something customers love. The “snaps” disappear after 24 hours, meaning if you want to see what’s going on in real time – you have to follow along. Sharing behind-the-scenes footage of how you run your business is one of the most interesting things to customers out there, they love knowing there are real people running the show.
