When color correcting first became popular, it seemed like another complicated makeup trend. The thing is, color correcting is actually really helpful in creating a flawless finish and not just another weird makeup trend (as if there weren’t enough already). Here’s what color correcting is all about: by using concealer shades like green or purple, you’re essentially offsetting the color of your imperfections. You do this after you apply your primer and moisturizer but before foundation. So, want perfect skin? Read on as I’ve got a foolproof guide to color correcting and learn what all those colors mean.
Green Concealer cancels out redness. So if you’ve got blemishes, a sunburn or any redness that you want covered up, apply some green concealer in those areas before going in with foundation.
Pink Concealer brightens the skin especially if you have yellow undertones, pink concealer will help brighten and highlight any parts of your face that are looking sallow.
Use Peach Concealer to conceal under eye circles. It cancels out purple so if you want to look awake in the morning, this is the right shade to use before going in with foundation and concealer.
Blue Concealer also brightens up skin, especially if you have a fairer skin tone. it helps to add radiance to the skin. Consider adding a blue concealer to your face if you have light skin.
Yellow Concealer brightens darker skin tones and counters purple under eye circles. If you have a bruise on your body, use yellow concealer before going in with foundation.
