With MTV’s Video Music Awards quickly approaching this Sunday night, it’s time to think about your awesome viewing party! Impress your friends with these unique and delicious cocktails that you can easily make in the convenience of your own home. This year, we’re partying along with the rockstars and raising a glass (or two) filled with a cocktail inspired by Video of the Year nominees. These signature cocktails were created by the guys behind Jose Cuervo + 1800 tequila. All details and recipes are ahead. Cheers and congratulations to all the nominees!

#1. “Spiked Lemonade”
If you haven’t guessed already, this cocktail is inspired by Beyonce’s favorite tequila as she mentions in her single, Formation – “Sippin Cuervo No Chaser” – Join in on the fun just as Bey would with this cocktail….

1.5 oz Jose Cuervo Especial
3 oz. Lemonade
Garnish with lemon wheel

Directions: Combine ingredients in shaker.  Shake and strain into a Collins glass.  Garnish with a lemon wheel.

Created exclusively by Derrick Turner at Harding’s NYC, this cocktail is inspired by Kanye West’s Video Of The Year Nomination, ‘Famous’ – share this cocktail with your tequila loving guests…

2 oz. 1800® Silver
1 tsp rose water
2 peels of cucumber
1/2 oz. pineapple juice
1/2 oz. lime
1/4 oz. agaveDirections: Muddle cucumber in shaker. Add remaining ingredients to shaker. Shake and double strain into Collins glass. Garnish with cucumber roll.21st & Park

#4. “The Red Bling”

Created exclusively by Derrick Turner at Harding’s NYC, this cocktail pays homage to Drake’s ‘Hot Line Bing’ nomination, serve this delicious cocktail to all the Drake fan’s in the house…

2 oz. 1800® Añejo
1/4 oz. lemon
1/2 nectarine puree
1/2 oz. agave
3/4 oz. Italian bitter liqueurDirections: Add all ingredients to mixing glass. Stir for 10 seconds. Double strain into martini glass and garnish with grapefruit peel.The Red House cocktail recipe

#5. “Sorry Not Sorry”
Created exclusively by Derrick Turner at Harding’s NYC, this cocktail was inspired by Justin Biebers hit song and video of the year, “Sorry” – guests will love this cocktail as it’s perfectly balanced with a variety of flavors that will hit every taste bud in your mouth! 

2 oz. 1800® Reposado
3 oz. strawberry shrub**
1/4 oz. lemonDirections: Add all ingredients to shaker. Shake and strain in martini coupe. Garnish with lemon peel.  Add ingredients into mixing bowl, mix and let sit for an hour before creating cocktail.
**Strawberry shrub = 1/3 oz. sugar, 1/3 oz. white wine vinegar, 1/3 oz. muddled strawberries
