NBC’s ‘World of Dance’ is coming up strong with an incredible cast of judges. Just when I think my girl J Lo is doing it all, she takes on yet another challenge! I love her! Her latest venture: To serve as co-producer, judge, and mentor on NBC’s upcoming competition show, ‘World Of Dance’. Incredible! From mom to superstar to performer, we all know J Lo loves to dance – this role couldn’t be more perfect for her. While additional judges have yet to be announced, here’s what J Lo had to say:
“I identify with the struggles, passion, discipline, competition and exhilaration of dance,” said Lopez. “I am excited that with this show we can skyrocket a dancer’s career and help guide them to success.”
The previously announced 10-episode series, from Universal Television Alternative Studio and Lopez’s Nuyorican Productions, brings elite dancers from around the globe together to compete in battles of artistry, precision and athleticism. Solo artists will compete against duos and crews in an unlimited range of dance, including hip hop, krumping, popping, locking, tap, ballet, break dancing, ballroom, clogging, stomping and more. Not only will J Lo be an excellent judge for the show, the participants will adore her for her caring and calm temperament. She’ll be more of a mentor than anything – helping these competitors make their way in the world of professional dance just like she did when she was first breaking into the business.
On World of Dance, dancers will compete across a variety of dance genres for the chance to win a grand prize of $1 million. There will be three competition tiers: junior (any-sized groups of dancers under 16), upper (solo dancers or groups of two to four people over 16) and team (groups of five or more people over age 16). After audition rounds, each division will face off until a winner from each is determined. Then, in the finale, the final three will compete for the grand prize and the title of “Best in the World.” (via TV Guide)

J Lo started her dance career on the show ‘In Living Color’ years ago! She has since then also been a judge on ‘American Idol’ so she’s no stranger to competition style television shows. I am sure she’ll absolutely rock this one, which she will also executive produce.
