USA is ready to unleash the second season of their drama series “Queen of the South” and it’s already looking fierce! The network released an exclusive first look at a scene from the premiere that shows drug dealers Camila (Veronica Falcon) and husband Epifanio (Joaquim de Almeida) preparing for their biggest battle thus far. No, the clip does not show our protagonist Teresa Mendoza (Alice Braga) even for a second, but the intensity between the couple we most love to hate is enough to hold us over until we see her again.
Much like a duel, Camila and Epifanio walk towards one another slowly as their guards watch from inside their dark SUV’s. As always, Camila remains calm and calculated even when her love hands her divorce papers that he equates to a peace treaty. If you’ve followed this duo and all the terrible, immoral and illegal things they’ve done to each other, you’d agree that a divorce is long overdue. But at the core of it all, they really do love each other in their own evil way. They chose to live their lives together in this grey area and they will continue to do so until death do them part. At least, that’s what it seems that Camila has in mind.
She returns the papers to Epifanio and declares that war is indeed on. He knows she has the upper hand after she handed him copies of the book that Teresa was left by Guero (Jon Ecker). This could end his career as governor in Mexico and possibly create even more damage. Oh Camila, if you mess with the bull you’ll get the horns!
I can’t wait to see what goes down this season. Tune-in to all the drama when “Queen of the South” returns to USA Network on June 8th.
