I know I’m starting to sound redundant each month by proclaiming it another exciting time to be a Netflix subscriber, but it’s true yet again! “Orange is the New Black” is FINALLY back on the streaming service starting June 9th. The big question, of course, is whether or not Daya (Dascha Polanco) pulls the trigger. Whether she does or not, there will be consequences. You can’t point a gun at a guard and get away with it. We already lost one beloved character last season, let’s hope we don’t lose another one so fast!
“Flaked” is coming back for their highly anticipated second season on June 2nd. Will Arnett stars as Chip, a complicated guy with so many tangled layers you just never know what he’s going to say or do next. So many lies were exposed during the season 1 finale, that I don’t really know what to expect from its sophomore run. If you’re into dark comedies or just want to see a beautifully shot series set in Venice Beach, catch up ASAP.
I don’t want to date myself here but I remember how much I loved watching the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling (G.L.O.W. for short) back in the late ‘80s and ‘90s. There were so many fun personalities to watch duke it out weekly on television including Sally the Farmer’s Daughter, The Soul Patrol and of course Big Bad Mama.
Inspired by this era, Netflix created a new series aptly title “Glow” about an unemployed actress (played by Alison Brie) who finds work impersonating a female wrestler in 1980’s Los Angeles. Can you imagine the music that’ll be on this soundtrack? Watch all the episodes on June 23rd.
Other series set to hit Netflix include part 3 of “The Ranch” on June 16, season one of “Gypsy” and season one of “My Only Love Song” on June 9th.
Some of your favorite broadcast series are also making their way to the streaming service in June. If you’re sad that Olivia Pope and the gang from “Scandal” are going to wrap-up their storylines after season seven, you can rewatch season six on June 17. Ryan Phillippe’s new show “Shooter” will have its first season available on June 18th. Two CW shows will be available on June 1st: “The 100” and “Arrow.” Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. debuts season four on June 15 followed by ABC sister show “Grey’s Anatomy” with season 13 on June 17.
I haven’t forgotten the kiddos! Disney’s “Moana” will debut on June 20th and Dreamworks’ “Trolls” will be available to stream on June 7th. Some children series coming back including season 3 of “Inspector Gadget” on June 2nd and season 2 of “World of Winx” on June 16.
What are you looking forward to watching the most? Let me know in the comments!
