How to Create Your Own Snapchat Filter
According to Snapchat, “Whether it’s for a house party or wedding, a coffee shop or campus-wide event, Geofilters make it easy for Snapchatters who are there to send your message to friends.” Known as “On-Demand Geofilters,” start by heading straight to the On-Demand Geofilter page, here: www.snapchat.com/on-demand. Once you get there, it’s as easy as pie – simply follow the step-by-step guidelines.
1. Start by clicking “Create Now” – you’ll then be asked to login to your Snapchat account.
2. You can then either put your designer skills to the test by choosing the Photoshop or Illustrator templates OR choose “create online” for a simplified process that requires no photoshop skills.
3. Then, simply pick your special occasion.
4. Now, you can start designing!
5. Choose your own text, colors, font, bitmojis – you name it!
6. Now, schedule the dates you’d like to use the geofilter (your event date…wedding, birthday etc.)
7. And, follow the steps to select the geographic area you’d like the geofilter to be made available.
8. Once your area has been selected, the next screen will display the cost and will ask you to name the geofilter with a unique name.
9. Make your payment, submit and you’re order will go into review.
10. Once, your filter has been approved, you’ll receive an email from Snapchat letting you know you’re good to go!
11. You’ll be able to find and use your on-demand geofilter when you’re in the area you defined, during your specified timeframe.
