Arugula – this is great for salads, adding to sandwiches and for a quick side dish to any dinner. It’s a little spicy and a great way to change things up from regular lettuce.

Here’s a great, simple arugula salad recipe that’s one of my favs:

Celery – this is a go-to snack for me for sure. I love dipping in anything from almond butter to guacamole – it’s an excellent way to avoid chips and crackers!

Zucchini – So easy to prepare as a simple low-cal side dish for any weeknight dinner. But, did you know it also works for low-carb main dishes? Check out this recipe for Beef Stuffed Zucchini Boats via Gimme Delicious Food.

Popcorn – easily one of my favorite snacks, perfect for at-home or on-the-go, it’s a great low cal option that can be easily spiced up with a sprinkle of chili powder, parmesan or even coconut oil.

Blackberries – this fiber-filled fruit is SO good for you. Packed with antioxidants and low-cal, it’s the perfect option for fruit lovers. One of my favorite ways to eat blackberries? In a smoothie, of course. Here’s a delicious, quick recipe via Crème de la Crumb. Same goes for strawberries, which are easily interchangeable!

Egg Whites – if you ever find yourself feeling really hungry and in need of some low-cal protein, egg whites are the perfect solution. You can quickly whip up an egg white omelet, load it up with veggies and you have a fiber and protein-packed meal that will leave you feeling great for hours.

Cod – if you’re afraid of cooking fish, don’t be! Once you get the hang of it, it’s super easy and SO good for you. Packed with protein and low on calories, cod is a great option when it comes to weeknight dinners for you and the whole fam. Here’s a great recipe for easy fish tacos that everyone will enjoy.

Those are my favorite low-calories foods right now and all make it onto my shopping list every week. Easy, delicious, packed with nutrients and not breaking the calorie bank – what more can you ask for? Do you have specific low calorie foods that are your favorites right now?
