WATCH: Owen Wilson and Ed Helms in “Father Figures” Trailer

Imagine living your life thinking your father was deceased and then one day you find out he actually isn’t. Not only that, but your own sweet mother has no idea exactly what man is your actual father. This is not an advertisement for an episode of The Maury Povich Show, it’s the premise for the new Owen Wilson and Ed Helms film “Father Figures.”

LOS ANGELES – JUN 10: Owen Wilson arrives for the “Cars 3” Hollywood Premiere on June 10, 2017 in Anaheim, CA

The comedy, co-starring Glenn Close as the sexually adventurous mom, will show brothers Kyle (Wilson) and Peter (Helms) as they travel in search for their biological fathers. There are a few men in the running, they include characters played by Terry Bradshaw, J.K. Simmons, Christopher Walken and even Ving Rhames.

“There are over 70 million fathers in the U.S.,” the trailer says in the opening scene. “Inventive father’s, athletic, brave. But not everyone knows who their father is. For forty years, we thought we did, until today.

Helen Baxter, mom: “I wasn’t sure who your father was.”

Peter: “How does that work?”

Helen: “It was the crazy ‘70s. Monogamy wasn’t exactly a priority.”

Finding their father won’t be an easy task either. None of the possible men think they could’ve fathered either child. Walken’s zany character heads for the hills when the guys call him daddy. Later, Ronald Hunt (Simmons) exclaims, “There is no way these jackasses are my kids.”

Will this duo find the man who fathered them all those years ago? You’ll have to head for theaters on December 22.
