Who doesn’t want bigger lips? For the most part, we all would love to see our lips look a little plumper, fuller and just have that irresistible pucker. Am I right? And, while there are heaps of procedures out there to make that happen, most people aren’t in the market for major plastic surgery or implants. But, finding some simple and easy ways to plump up our pucker? That’s exactly what we’re after. From giving your lips a good exfoliation to using lip products that help boost your look, here are a few of my favorite tips to make your lips look bigger.
Tips to Make Your Lips Look Bigger
Exfoliate. I know we always talk about the importance of exfoliation when it comes to head to toe skin health, but what about those lips? Dry, flaky lips will naturally look smaller, whereas healthy exfoliated lips reflect light and have a perfect glow, giving the illusion of plumpness. Be gentle when exfoliating! The best way is to use a toothbrush to very lightly slough off dead skin cells and flakes. You can do this daily to help keep those lips looking great.
Create a blank canvas before applying your lip color. You know how you use foundation or tinted moisturizer to create a smooth canvas all over your face? You can do the same with lips by applying just a touch of concealer. This will help lip color to stay in place, go on smoothly and give you that bold color you see in the tube. When lip color is applied well and stays put, lips look fuller, longer.

Use lipliner to make your lips appear fuller. This one may take a little practice, but once you get it down, you’ll fall in love with how full your lips look. Using a lip liner in the same shade as your lip color, overdraw the edge of your lips, just a bit. Trace the edge and outer edge of your lip with the liner, creating the illusion of larger lips. Then, fill in with your favorite lip color.
Make a play off your Cupid’s Bow. Ever heard of this part of your lip? It’s the little dip at the top of your upper lip, and it’s your best friend when it comes to creating the illusion of fuller lips. Just use a small amount of highlighter in the middle of your upper lip (right below the Cupid’s Bow). You’ll be blown away by the magic of light reflection, which will immediately give you those plump lips you’re after.
Use a high-shine gloss created for plumping up lips. There are all sorts of lip products out there designed to provide a boost of instant shimmer, which will plump up that pout immediately.
