Have you noticed how when you wake up in a wonderful mood overflowing with positivity, you have a beautiful day? On these sacred days, you feel like you can deflect anything negative the universe throws at you because your positive thought patterns are bulletproof.
The opposite, of course, can happen on the days we wake up feeling not so full of rainbows.
We all have an individual happiness recipe that once discovered, should be followed consistently daily to create our own beautiful life.
True happiness can be achieved when our mental, emotional, physical and spiritual needs are fulfilled. Here are a few ideas for each category, but it’s important to remember we are all unique and will have individual ideas to add to the list.
Mental
Creativity, reading, setting goals and making (and standing by) boundaries in life.
Emotional
Practicing gratitude, expressing your feels, speaking to a therapist, and spending time with good friends.
Physical
Fitness, a healthy diet, adequate sleep and spending time outdoors.
Spiritual
Meditation, ritual or prayer.
My personal happiness recipe combines drinking my morning coffee or healthy smoothie outdoors submerged in nature, mapping out my goals for the day in order of priority and spending time with family or friends, even if only via FaceTime. If I don’t fulfill this prescription each day, it can leave my emotional tank feeling a little empty and can throw my whole day off.
