2018 Screen Actors Guild Awards Recap

I always say there’s nothing more fun than an awards night. Curling up on the couch with a bottle of wine, some great takeout, and the 2018 Screen Actors Guild Awards – what better way to spend a winter night? The best part about the SAG awards is that they’re a bit different from all the traditional awards shows. If you’re not family with SAG, here’s a quick intro:

Lauded by critics for its style, simplicity and genuine warmth, the Screen Actors Guild Awards® presented by SAG-AFTRA, which made its debut in 1995, has become one of the industry’s most prized honors. The awards focus on both individual performances as well as on the work of the entire ensemble of a drama series and comedy series, and the cast of a motion picture. These honors are fundamental to the spirit of the Screen Actors Guild Awards because they recognize what all actors know – that acting is a collaborative art. (via sagawards.org)

2018 Screen Actors Guild Awards Recap

This year’s awards show started off with an incredible red carpet (the best part, of course!), here are a few highlights:

Reese Witherspoon was stunning in green:

And, Connie Britton in rose gold glam.

Kristin Bell took on the award’s first-ever role as host to the show – and she did an excellent job. The show also featured all women presenters – to keep in solidarity with #MeToo. Here was Kristin’s nod to women everywhere and to the weekend of women’s marches that took place across the country this weekend: “We are living in a watershed moment. As we march forward, let’s make sure we’re leading the charge with empathy and diligence because fear and anger never win the race.”

The show was great, the fashion phenomenal, but let’s get down to business and take a look at the wins!

But first, let US take a selfie. #sagawards
