There is only one fabulous hair guru I trust to pull off fabulous last minute red-carpet-ready blonde locks, and that’s my super talented hairstylist of many years, Nicole Tresch.
Nicole is an expert hair genius who emphasizes the importance of finding your perfect color match, in addition to crafting hairstyles to flawlessly compliment your unique face shape and bone structure.
Get the Look: How to Slay Blonde Locks This Spring
Rocking a hair color that’s a hue or few out could leave you looking washed out and lifeless. The secret to finding ‘the one’ when it comes to your hair color kindred spirit lies in your skin tone. The right hair color will make your eyes and skin pop with radiant glowy perfection.
Determine your skin tone
Step 1. Identify
Cool skin tone – pale skin, blue veins with pink undertones.
Warm skin tone – green veins with peach or gold undertones to the skin.

Step 2. Test Your Skin Tone
”Hold different colored clothes to your face in front of a mirror” says Nicole. ”If shades of blue, green or purple are the most complimentary next to your skin tone, cool tone hair colors may work better beside your complexion. A warm skin tone usually works best with shades of red, orange or yellow. It’s important to remember that, with so many varying shades of both skin tone types in addition to the fact some people are blessed to be able to rock any color, a one-to-one session is essential with a professional hair colorist to identify what will work best for you before you take the color plunge.”
Step 3. Choose Your Color
Cool skin tone – black, ash blondes, ash browns and platinum hues flatter cool skin tones.
Warm skin tone – golden brown, golden blonde and warm reds give a magical kiss of life to warm skin tones.
Nicole has taught me so much about hair over the years we’ve worked together, like how the wrong base or root color can throw off a whole look – the same way an accessory can make or break an outfit.
The ombré trend is officially OUT, but incorporating bright beachy ends with seamless contrasting highlights on the top adds some seriously fierce volume with additional Va-Va-Voom.
Hair trends for blondes this spring are bright, yet stick amongst honey hues to add warmth rather than white tones. I love these gorgeous examples of blonde color without looking ‘frosty’ as worn by Gigi Hidad and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
