Gone are the days businesses employed one person in a job role focusing on one particular area of expertise. Following the recession, companies had to cut costs. Full-time salaried positions utilizing one or two specialist skillsets became job roles with one person often handling various areas of expertise, for example, the entire marketing, social media, and public relations departments. Is this effective? That would depend on the talent. The intelligent organizations quickly adapted and embraced the opportunity to work smarter by implementing a remote workforce.

A more advanced version of the freelancer, remote workforces can be both full-time or employed as required on a project-by-project basis, saving businesses a huge amount of money, and allowing them to tap into a wider, deeper talent pool engaging specialist talents as needed.

Remote workers are more cost-efficient, in the sense that they cut costs. With a remote workforce in play, there’s no requirement for an office. And the remote workers? They get to work from wherever they are in the world, without being tied down to traditional office hours and corporate dress codes. Win-win!
